Woman delivers three babies through her 2 sons in Kwara

A Beninese immigrant, Adamu Sime, has been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command, for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his biological mother.

Adamu’s younger brother, who is also said to be having sexual relationship with the same mother, is currently at large as security agents closed in on them.

The incestous relationships had resulted in the birth of three children, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

The command’s spokesman, Mr. Babawale Afolabi, confirmed this in a statement he signed and made available to NAN on Sunday, in Ilorin.

Afolabi said that Adamu had been having sexual intercourse with his mother for a long time and that it had resulted in three offspring. “On September 9, the District Head of Mosne Had Community, Kaima, Malam Bandede, reported the forbidden act being committed by Sime and his mother Fati Sime, of the same community.

“Men from the Intelligence Unit, NSCDC in Kaima, swung into action and the outcome of the investigations established the fact that the mother (Fati) had birthed three children for her biological son,” he stated.

Afolabi said that further investigation revealed that the younger brother of the accused, who was also confirmed to be sleeping with the mother, was now at large.

He said that the mother and her two sons did not have the necessary papers to stay in Nigeria and had been handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service for background checks and further action.

Africa: Herdsmen attack angry Kwara rice farmers, chop off hand

Suspected herdsmen have reportedly cut off the right hand of a rice farmer, Saheed Zakariyau, in Bindofu village, Lafiagi Emirate, in the Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The farmer, according to sources, was allegedly attacked on his farm in Bindofu village last Saturday after accusing the herdsmen of using their animals to destroy his farm.

It was gathered that the victim, in company of his colleagues, got to the farm on Saturday and discovered that the herdsmen grazed their cattle on his farm and destroyed the crops.

The farmer and his friends reportedly chased away the herdsmen.
However, one of the herders reportedly drew out a cutlass and chopped off the farmer’s hand.

A spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State, Babawale Afolabi, said the incident happened on Democracy Day around 1pm.
He said, “One Mr Saheed Zakariyau, with his colleagues of Bindofu area, Lafiagi, came to the NSCDC office, Lafiagi division, and said they went to their farm around 9.30am. On getting there, they met a large herd of cattle and some Fulani herdsmen grazing on their rice farm.

“As they were trying to pursue the Fulani herdsmen and their cattle, one Fulani removed his cutlass and cut off his right hand and the Fulani ran away.”
Afolabi said the command had commenced investigation into the incident with a view to apprehending the suspects. Punch

Kwara to build secretariat on Bukola Saraki’s land

Kwara State Government has said it will build a secretariat on the piece of land reclaimed from ex-Senate President  Bukola Saraki.

A Government House statement on Friday by the  Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, said, “Ownership of the land bordering the Civil Service Clinic in Ilorin has officially reverted to Kwara State Government. A  new secretariat complex will be erected on the land next year.”

Ajakaye said  “the land was originally meant for Government Secretariat and a parking space for the Civil Service Clinic but was unlawfully allocated to a private firm Asa Investments Limited without any record of payment to the state government.

“No certificate of occupancy was ever issued in favour of the firm.”

The statement added,  “Hundreds of civil servants still operate from rented apartments at a huge cost to the government. The new secretariat, once completed in 2021, will definitely go a long way towards ending this unhealthy trend as well as provide a more conducive and decent working environment for government workers.

“Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has signed a constitutional instrument withdrawing the allocation of plots of land 1, 3 and 5 to the firm, asserting that the said land was unlawfully appropriated contrary to the purpose for which it was meant.

“The governor’s decision followed a resolution of the state House of Assembly urging him to reclaim the land because it was arbitrarily taken over in the 90s without any evidence of payment by the Asa Investment Limited, even though the land was meant for public use.

“The governor noted in the revocation order that the land was originally meant for the construction of another phase of the Kwara State Civil Service Secretariat and a parking space for both the civil service clinic and the secretariat.” Punch
