Over Seven soldiers killed in Borno attack

No fewer than seven soldiers attached to the 153 Task Force Battalion in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State have been reportedly killed in an attack by Boko Haram terrorists.

Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, could not confirm the killing.

He said he was yet to get proper information about the attack.

According to sources, the troops were taken unawares by the insurgents, who struck around 10 a.m. on Monday.

The soldiers were reportedly overwhelmed by the terrorists after putting up a strong fight to defend their base.

The Unit, according to sources, has been moved to Dikwa Council Area following the attack.
