2 arrested for killing Ogboni leader

Two persons have been arrested in connection with the killing of South West leader Ogboni fraternity, Chief Stephen Akinkunmi in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

Chief Akinkunmi was killed on Thursday at the premises of the Saint Stephen Hotel, Ore after he refused to enter his car as ordered by the hoodlums.
Cash worth over N2 million and other items belonging to the deceased were carted away by the assailants.

Brother of the deceased, Mr. Joshua Akindele said the gunmen lodged in the hotel for three days before carrying out the operation.

Wife of the deceased, Mrs Toyin Akinkunmi, urged security agents to protect the family of the deceased as she had been receiving threat messages from some people.

She said , “Some people have been calling us on the telephone, threatening our lives. We want the security agencies to help us arrest the perpetrators, we also want justice.”

Ondo Police spokesman, ÀSP Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed arrest of the two suspects and said the command has begun investigation into the incident.
“We are after the perpetrators and we will ensure they are brought to book,” Ikoro assured . Thenationonlineng
