In Kano: housewife pushes rival, son into well

The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old housewife, Hauwa Lawal, of the Rurum village in the Rano Local Government Area of the state for allegedly pushing her 35-year-old rival, Zuwaira Sani, and her 18-month-old son into a nearby well.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the incident on Monday, said the suspect engaged in a dispute with her rival, which led to a scuffle.

According to him, in the process, Hauwa pushed her rival to her 18-month-old son, Mustafa Gambo, who was strapped on her back, into a well in their compound.

Haruna stated that the victims were rescued from the well and rushed to the Rano Hospital, where Zuwaira was confirmed dead, while her son was treated and discharged.

He added that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation. Punch
