PDP Dino Melaye storms INEC headquarters, presents video documentary evidence

Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate in the Kogi West Senatorial rerun election, on Wednesday stormed the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to express his displeasure over results of the just-concluded election in the state.

According to Dailypost news, Melaye, who was received by INEC’s National Commissioner and Secretary, Festus Okoye, presented a petition with 21 video documentary evidence.

The sacked Senator made the disclosure in a tweet via his Twitter handle.

“National commissioner of INEC Festus Okoye and Secretary of INEC receiving my petition today with 21 video CD’s documentary evidence,” he tweeted.

The last Saturday’s election in Kogi State was marred with electoral malpractice and violence.

INEC had declared the Kogi West senatorial rerun election inconclusive.

The Returning Officer, Professor Olayinde Lawal, had said the margin between the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Smart Adeyemi and Melaye of the PDP was 20,570.

He had said Adeyemi polled a total of 80,118 votes, while Melaye got 59,548 votes from the seven local government areas in the senatorial district.
