3 nabbed for robbing Ondo petrol dealer, manager

The Ondo State Police Command on Sunday said it had arrested three persons in connection with an armed robbery incident at the Erufo community in the Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.

According to the command, the suspects are Bibowei Zeblon, 34; Daniel Peretei, 33; and Julius Ekunjumi, 32.

The spokesman for the command, Mr Femi Joseph, said the trio allegedly robbed a dealer in petrol, Mr Yedo Blessing, and his manager, Mr Omotehinse Igbekele, of an undisclosed sum of money.

Joseph said, “After receiving a distress call, the police swung into action and arrest the three suspects.

“The following exhibits were recovered from them: two motorcycles, a mask, a ring and a hand band, while part of the stolen money was recovered and the suspects are helping detectives on how to track the other fleeing suspects.”

He added that the suspects would be charged after the completion of investigation.

“We are after the fleeing members of the gang and I want to assure the general public that they will soon be arrested,” the PPRO stated. Punch
